FAMILY ARCHIVES AND STUDY CENTRE

                                                                                              

Ecomuseo has opened in Donato within the premises of the hystorical Workers Society a Family Archives and Study Centre. The aim of the Centre is to gather memories and documents belonging to the inhabitants, the families and the emigrants of Valle Elvo and Serra (Camburzano, Donato, Graglia, Mongrando, Muzzano, Netro, Occhieppo Inferiore e Superiore, Pollone, Sala, Sordevolo, Torrazzo, Zubiena).

Mrs Chiara Doleatti, Mayor of Donato, opens the Archives Centre.

Gian Paolo Chiorino, in charge of the Archives Centre of Donato.

-      letters, postcards, writings, documents, diaries, epistles, memories, biographies, deeds prior to 1950.

-     photographs of people, places, professions, civil and religious celebrations, examples of alpine country  life of Valle Elvo and Serra, prior to 1950.

-     collection of newspapers, parish gazettes, magazines, postcards, books on Valle Elvo and Serra.

-      films, audiovisuals, slides, prior to 1950.

-      archives of artisans and enterprises of Valle Elvo and Serra.

-      small meaningful objects tied to important memories.

In case of donation, the archives will be preserved by the Centre appropriately and orderly within the premises. In case od lending, the same will be photographed or photocopied and then returned. The method use to place on file will be carried out following the Guarini computer program, under  supervision and  financing provided by the Piedmont Region.

Ecomuseo hopes that this proposal is well received by the inhabitants of Valle Elvo and Serra, thus allowing proper conservation of all these memories which represent the history of this community and that would otherwise be lost
